The diversity and quality of Thredbo’s
cuisine scene is a prominent part of its appeal as a year round travel
destination. There are over 20 restaurants in the village, covering cuisine from all parts of the globe and several are open 12 months of the year. In out of season please always call before your arrival. Despite being many miles from the sea, the seafood in Thredbo is of the freshest and finest to be found in Australia. Feast on prawns or oysters or enjoy the local snowy mountains trout which is found in a number of restaurants such as Credo, Santes and Altitude 1370. Local specialities include some of the best duck you will find anywhere, venison and the snowy mountains trout cooked every which way. Use the following restaurant
guide but be aware that bookings are essential on all Saturday nights
throughout the year and every day during peak periods such as winter,
xmas, Easter and at Music Festivals.

The Candelight Restaurant and bar typifies old fashion Austrian hospitality that makes visiting a traditional Thredbo Lodge something special. The Restaurant offers excellent dining with views of the mountain with cheese fondue our speciality. The
fully licenced cocktail bar and lounge have a distict European atmosphere
and presents an ideal place to relax in front of the open fire after a
hard day's skiing.

The combination
of candlelight, great food and wine, and attentive service makes Drakes
an intimate and relaxing place to dine. After a day spent exercising in
the fresh mountain air, you’ll probably be ravenous. The food at Drakes
will tantalise your tastebuds and satisfy your appetite. Drakes
is open from 5pm to 11pm each day. Bookings are essential. |

The T-Bar Restaurant, one of Thredbo's most popular licensed restaurants,
is centrally located in the Village Square. The T-Bar Restaurant is open nightly for Dinner in Winter from 6pm till late and Tuesdays to Saturdays in Summer from 6:30pm. |

Located in the
centre of the village, just down the road from the supermarket, the Ullr
bar is one of the finest watering holes in Thredbo and a popular nightspot
for tourists and locals alike. After a long day on the slopes, drop in for
a cool beer and stay for a sizzling BBQ meal in the steakhouse. BBQ your own steak, chicken and fish on the char grill, then help yourself to the roast vegies and salad bar. A very hearty meal guaranteed to fill even the most hungry skier or boarder after a big day on the slopes. Enjoy a fine red wine or a chilly schooner by the cozy fireplace while your steak sizzles away. The Viking Bar is opened 2pm - midnight Monday to Saturday and 2 - 10pm on Sunday. The steakhouse is opened 6 - 9pm Wednesday to Monday. |
