YOUR BALLS GO FURTHER AT THREDBO !
Certainly one of the great summer activities for any visitor to Thredbo is to play one of Australia’s most uniquely beautiful and challenging 9 hole golf courses. From the 375 metre 1st hole, past the Platypus Pond, through the Snake Pit, a visit to Wally’sPlace, The Wedge, over the Fountain and down the magnificent 280 metre 9th “Docs Ponds”.
Thredbo Alpine Golf course is something to remember.
Play a round of golf on Australia’s highest course. The nine hole, AGU rated course is bordered by the Thredbo river and has unique and challenging features such as the snake pit and Wally Wombat’s House. Equipment hire and green fees can be paid at Thredbo Sports.
1st Hole – 375 Metres Par 5
Can be a bastard of a hole when the southerly is in your face, be prepared for 5 plus !
2nd Hole
All this requires is a 3-5 iron, early morning golfers watch out for the platypus in the lake on the left
3rd Hole – Copperhead Gully
A great hole off the back tees, have a go at the green if you dare and if you do.. there are copperheads about
4th Hole
Danger Will Robinson.. danger.. handle with care at the wombat hole.. wally is watching
5th Hole – Blind Mans Bluff
Probably the most dis-liked hole on the course, a very difficult par 3
6th Hole – The Wedge
A waste of a hole but tough
7th Hole
Second most favourite hole, a great drive to 220 metres then a 80 metres dogleg to a tough green
8th Hole – The Fountain –
What a great hole of control with your 9 iron
9th Hole – Docs Ponds
Docs ponds, our favourite hole, beware of Snowbound apartments if you hook, forget your ball if you slice and get ready for a beer if you take it slightly right and fade it back.. some of us have done the green
